In 2000, the Logan County Fiscal Court established the Tourist and Convention Commission for the purpose of promoting tourism and convention activity within the county.
The meetings take place at least quarterly, and are open to the public. Meetings will be announced in accordance with the Open Meeting Law, KRS 61.805-61.850.
Commissioners serve on a volunteer basis with terms from one to three years.
Activities of the commission are funded by charitable donations and a transient room tax, not to exceed 3% of the rent for local hotels and overnight lodging.
Grants for promoting tourism activities will be funded according to the attached guidelines.

The Commission's regular scheduled meetings are every third Thursday of each month - 5:30 PM at the Logan County Chamber of Commerce: 116 South Main Street, Russellville.
